On September 26th 2023, we welcomed more than 300 delegates to Robinson College for our annual meeting, CNS 2023: Interdisciplinary Insights on the Future of Dementia. Research. We used our annual meeting to highlight the strength in the interdisciplinary approach to tackling dementia and how collaboration, with the communal aim of understanding these diseases and identifying new treatments, is key.
In all, we had 18 talks; including two plenaries from the fabulous Professors Cath Mummery and Sarah Tabrizi, 10 data blitz presentations from Early Career Researchers, speakers from 8 different departments and 3 bite size introductions to the interdisciplinary dementia institutes and hubs at Cambridge (the UK Dementia Research Institute at Cambridge, the ALBORADA Drug Discovery Institute and the NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre).
The annual meeting is always a cause for celebration, getting together; renewing friendships, connections and igniting collaborations. The day ended with lots of laughter, drinks in the garden and a conference dinner with in excess of 130 attendees – in all the day was successful in strengthening the diverse dementia community at Cambridge!
Thank you to our speakers, volunteers, data blitzers, chairs, poster judges, suppliers, Robinson College and to all our delegates for attending.
We are grateful to all of our sponsors for supporting us, especially Alzheimer’s Research UK and AbClonal.
Congratulations to our two poster prize winners – Alex Strauss (Malpetti Lab) and Dr Nina Rzechorzek (O’Neill Lab).
