The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Honors College is looking to send an annual small cohort of 3-5 undergraduate students to Cambridge for 10-week summer research placements, approximately 2nd June – 10th August. Students coming into the Honors College rank in the top 1% in the USA and applicants would undergo initial vetting at UTD, thus meaning that those arriving in Cambridge would be motivated and ambitious, and thus potential future Gates / NIH OXCAM applicants. The initial plan is for Cambridge to provide a list of PIs who could potentially host a student, those selected students would then pick 2-3 PI labs that that they are interested in, the Cambridge PI making the final choice. Student maintenance and travel would be covered, but, as usual for a lot of summer students, there would not be any financial support for the research itself, at least not as this point. If you are interested in hosting a UTD summer student or simply knowing more before committing, please email Ewan (es336@cam.ac.uk).
