My current research continues to focus upon the roles of the hypothalamus in the control of energy balance. Our current understanding of the central control of appetite has relied heavily upon mouse models and I continue to utilise the power of both murine genetics and whole animal physiological studies to address these issues. I aim to model disease-related mutations in murine systems and continue the powerful, synergistic relationship between human genetics and murine modelling which has been so fruitful in understanding complex systems biology.
