Dr Annelies Quaegebeur is a neuropathologist and the Research Director of the Cambridge Brain Bank. Her research group studies the the role of glia in tauopathies and alpha-synucleinopathies via the use of spatial biology techniques in human brain tissue. They use post-mortem brain tissue to understand the clinical and pathological heterogeneity and to validate in vivo biomarkers for synapses and inflammation in neurodegeneration.
