I completed my PhD as a Gates Scholar with Professor Trevor Robbins. Much of my work has centred on the neurochemical modulation of affective and behavioural control, with a special emphasis on serotonin. I seek to connect pharmacological challenge studies with deficits in psychiatric disorders, and have a particular interest in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I am comparing deficits in behavioural flexibility across compulsive disorders with the goal of informing the refinement of psychiatric classification and treatment. I am also interested in the possibility of revising maladaptive associations by harnessing the process of memory reconsolidation or through the use of psychedelic drugs.
