I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge, working under the supervision of Professors Trevor Robbins and Zoe Kourtzi. My research is dedicated to enhancing the theoretical understanding of compulsivity and inflexible behaviour, particularly in adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). By utilizing neuroimaging techniques, Máiréad examines the neurochemical profile present during adolescence and how it influences the development and progression of compulsive disorders. My work adopts a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating behavioural, clinical, developmental, neuropharmacological, computational, and neuroimaging methods to address the complex challenges associated with neuropsychiatric conditions like OCD.
