I am a NIHR Research Professor at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. I have a general neurosurgical practice with a subspecialist interest in the management of patients with neurological trauma. My research interests include traumatic brain injury (Chief Investigator of the MRC/NIHR-funded RESCUEicp decompressive study), multimodality monitoring in neurocritical care, and functional brain imaging. I was the previous Chair of the European Association of Neurological Societies (EANS) Research Committee and am now a Vice President of the EANS. I am also the Neurosurgical Specialty Lead at the Royal College of Surgeons of England; Chair of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS) Neurotrauma Group; a member of the SBNS Council; Director of Clinical Studies and Fellow at Robinson College, Cambridge; and Chief Medical Officer for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
