I am an AI researcher in the Maths department with an application focus on healthcare. Specifically, I am interested in constructing a rigorous model of the human body. In mathematical terms, I am trying to understand the human body by modelling it as a dynamical system, whereas in clinical terms my work can be seen as constructing a digital twin of the human. This research direction has widespread influence, not least of which in the neuroscience community. For example, there has been many papers written on constructing digital twins for Alzheimer's, cancer, and so on. I believe my work contributes to our general understanding of neuroscience in a computational manner, strengthening the power of our descriptive and predictive models.
