    Interests

I have carried out research projects on cognitive impairment in the context of progressive-degenerative dementias and affective symptomatology. My current interest in dementia spans from risk factors to clinical management. I have also investigated the neurobiology of emotional dysregulation and self-harm in the affective disorders in a broad sense, including borderline personality disorder. A third stream of my reserach interests focusses on the detection and treatment of perinatal mood disorders. In addition, I have collaborated on studies on schizophrenia, autism, and social anxiety disorder. I am also interested in Values-Based Practice (VBP) in psychiatry and the medical humanities and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
