I am exploring the role of T regulatory cells (Tregs) in Parkinson's Disease (PD), assessing whether there are changes in number and function compared to healthy controls. This includes looking at Tregs in the blood for characteristics such as stability, suppression, activation, proliferation, exhaustion and trafficking into other tissues/the brain. This is using spectral flow cytometry. I am also analysing Treg function, asking whether their suppressive capacity differs in PD, as well as looking for Tregs in post-mortem brain samples.
