Feeding behaviour and metabolic state are regulated by many factors- one of the them being nutrient intake. I am interested in how the body responds physiologically the intake of nutrients, in particular to amino acids, which are known to promote satiaty. I aim to explore the pathways that nutrients signal via the gut and brain axis to co-ordinate changes in endocrine, behavioural and autonomic function, and to identify whether these can be targeted therapeutically to adress the problem of inapropriate feeding behaviour and metabolic dysfunction.
