Academy of Medical Sciences Springboard Round 8
The Academy of Medical Sciences (AMS) has launched Springboard – Round 8, which aims to support newly independent biomedical scientists to launch their research careers. This scheme is targeted at those who have not yet obtained substantial research funding support from other sources, such as large research grants or large fellowships. Candidates in receipt of substantial funding may be deemed not in the spirit of the scheme.
The Academy encourages Springboard applicants from a broad diversity of biomedical research areas (from molecular, cellular and structural biology to anatomical, physiological, psychological, epidemiological and public health research areas). Applicants may use experimental or theoretical approaches and be undertaking everything from basic laboratory research through clinical application to healthcare delivery, as long as the work reflects the Academy’s mission to improve human health through research.
This scheme includes funding of up to £100,000 over two years and access to the Academy’s acclaimed mentoring and career development programme.
