Coordinated call: NIHR Global Health Research Groups – Call 5 (Internal deadline: 12pm NOON, 20^th October 2023)

The NIHR has announced their fifth call for Global Health Research Groups.

This scheme supports applied global health research and the strengthening of research capacity and sustainability, for the direct benefit of people in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs). Awards of up to £3 million over a period of up to 4 years are available to NIHR Global Health Research Groups.

• All applications must have two Joint Lead Applicants (one at an eligible UK institution and one at an eligible LMIC institution on the OECD DAC-list).

University Internal Coordination:

Institutions may submit more than one application, but each application must be distinct in its aims and objectives. Therefore, this call will be managed according to the University’s restricted calls procedure.

To take part in the internal coordination process please complete our online form by 12pm NOON, 20^th October 2023:

The online form requires the following information:

• PI name and department
• LMIC Co-PI name(s), institution(s) and country
• A brief summary of the project (300 words max), describing research relevance and the strength of the team
